The first step in creating a voicemail greeting is deciding what you want to say. Writing down your greeting is the easiest way to ensure that you do not forget anything vital or trip over your words when recording. If possible, ask someone else to listen to your greeting before recording it to make sure it is clear. You want to make sure your greeting gives clear instructions; otherwise, callers may be less likely to leave a message.

3. Provide other ways to contact you or get information. Are there other ways your caller can get information about your business or contact you? Consider including your website or an email in your after-hours greeting.
5. Don’t Forget To Smile. Smiling is a total game-changer when it comes to the tone of your voicemail greeting. We’ve all heard someone smiling through a phone, but we rarely think about how different it sounds when we do.
Invite the caller to leave a detailed message. If there is certain information you need, make sure to include that information here.
Before you record your business greeting, make sure to write it down first. Finalize your script and then rehearse a few times before you record the final business voicemail.
Provide your time switch a memorable name, for example "Sales Hours", then select the timezone this will apply to. For the first rule, select the days of the week and the time at which your office opens. In this example, we'll be setting Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM.
The Events feature allows creating pre-planned events that override the usual schedule. These menus do not repeat weekly. Instead, they reoccur on the monthly/yearly basis.
If you’re working remotely now, but your mobile number isn’t on your business cards, add your mobile number to your business line’s voicemail message! If you’re worried that people will start calling your cellphone at all hours of the night – they won’t. They’ll treat it just with just as much respect as your business line.

There are two packages for your deskphone: the standard and the mobility package. To determine the correct directions to present to you, we'll need to know which package you have: Press the Phone button to view your main phone screen. Click the most similar image to your phone screen: Setting a Personal Greeting Press the Message button. Dial your password followed by the # button. Dial 4 to change user preferences. Dial 3 to record or change greetings. Dial 1 to change your personal greeting. After the tone, record a personal greeting and follow the prompts to re-record if needed.
