Give a prolonged sales pitch in your voicemail greeting message. Waste a caller’s time with an excessively long greeting before they can leave their message.
After hours menu is always enabled by default. It cannot be deleted or disabled. Any time period not covered by any other business hours menu will be set to after hours by default.
You can enable or disable a greeting using the radio buttons at the top of the pane. The standard greeting cannot be disabled, however, the alternate greeting can be enabled in its place. Choose your own recording or use the system default.
Voicemail greetings can include any information you’d wish to convey, such as special sales, bargains, alternate phone numbers to use, or your company’s normal working hours.
Please leave your name, telephone number and a brief description of your service needs and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note that coverage cannot be bound, changed, or canceled via a voicemail message.

It makes sense to have an after-hours / weekend voicemail greeting for important teams at your business so that your clients feel confident that they will be taken care of. You may also suggest alternate resources like a help forum, knowledge base, or online chat to support customers while closed, if available.

Before you record your business voicemail greeting, be sure to rehearse it so you feel comfortable and don’t stumble around. You might want to write a script and practice a few times out loud beforehand.
Below you will find what we’d call “Standard” auto attendant scripts, along with some of their submenus. Please keep in mind that every phone system is different. Be sure to speak with your phone system provide to ensure your script matches the extensions that your phone system has been set to.
