After all, a professional voicemail recording boosts your credibility, makes you seem more competent, and encourages whoever’s listening to it to continue the relationship. A relatively unprofessional one — like mine, for instance — does the opposite: It encourages prospects, recruiters, and potential connections to run in the other direction. Often times knowing the purpose of their calls allows me to respond to their messages by sending them emails. As an example, when people have a question, often times I can send them an email answering their question. Knowing the purpose of the call also allows me to continue the communication through their voicemail if we end up playing phone tag.

IMHO, to have a professional sounding domain is just a requierement. But I clearly prefer if it have an easy-to-tell domain (in ocassions, I have said that it should be so easy to say as to being possible to tell by phone in a disco and your friend do not need to ask you to repeat it) and, if possible, very short.
