3. Communicate with non-English speaking customers. Most claim adjusters are not multi-lingual, and many insureds don’t speak English, which can lead to frustrating experiences.
Now that you are aware of the tips to create an efficient voicemail message, the next steps would be to understand from the examples below how you can get started.
If the mailbox is NOT setup, the fixed system message, "I'm sorry, the person you're trying to reach is unavailable at this time" plays instead of the personal greeting and the mailbox number plays instead of the mailbox name.
The voicemail message can be anywhere between 10- 25 seconds. Keep it as short as you can because the prospects need to hear the vital details in it.
"Hello, this is [Your Name] from [Your Company Name]. I'm calling because [insert reason for calling]. I'd love to talk to you about [insert benefit you can offer if they call back]. My number is [insert phone number]. I'll also follow up with an email tomorrow. I look forward to hearing what you think. Have a great day. Goodbye!"
The basic rule of thumb is that callers should hear one of two things when they first connect with your voicemail — either an apology for not being able to answer the call or a “thank you” for having called. You can do both if you prefer, but keep it short and to the point.

18. “Thanks for calling [Company name/your name]. We hope you’re enjoying the holiday season. We aren’t available at the moment due to our holiday hours. Leave your name, number and the reason for your call and we’ll get back to you ASAP! Thanks for calling.” Everyone deserves a break. Let your callers know although you might be enjoying one too, that their needs are important.
While this information can be tucked behind a phone menu option, it's best to state it upfront in your after hours recording. This way, callers can decide whether to call back at a better time, or leave a voicemail message.
