Here’s a simple fact. If you don’t leave a voicemail, you aren’t going to get a call back. In all honesty, your response rate with sales voicemails probably won't be high—the average response rate for a prospecting voicemail is between 4-6%, industry wide. You'll probably see more engagement using email. And leaving the perfect message takes planning and practice.
Keep a pen and paper next to you. Keep track of calls by writing down the person’s name, the time he or she called, and the reason. It’s best to write the information on a phone memo pad with carbon. This keeps the calls organized in one place, and when it isn’t for you, you can give a copy to the intended recipient.

If a call happens outside normal business hours, you can create a specific auto-attendant that’ll handle those calls with an alternative greeting message and menu options.
