This is the message that your customers hear when they call after business hours. Greetings often have a short welcome message and list the menu options. The menu that you set for after hours also applies to the holiday schedule.

The alternative is simple: Provide in your voice message a phone number and refer the caller to an assistant, a colleague, a cell number—any way of expediting their quest. Calling just to "check in" isn't a relevant reason unless your prospect has specifically asked you to. It's just a lazy excuse to get someone on the phone and it hardly ever works. Instead, find common ground between you and your leads.

Your personal voicemail greeting should be brief and to the point. State your name and your availability, project a welcoming aura, and ask the caller for whatever information you need from them.
