With caller ID you can identify callers before you answer the phone. You also have the ability to display the extension the inbound call came in on and the ability to change your outbound caller ID to display your business number.
*Use the word “with” instead of “to.” It sounds more positive. You want to talk “with” the person, not give them a “talking to.” It’s a subtle difference, yet it keeps the message positive.

Context does matter here. If the caller would reasonably expect you to answer the phone (such as if they were calling a store or other place of business), an apology for not being able to get to the phone makes the most sense.
