.
Instead of writing to inform people or to entertain them, you need to write your script as a way to create a conversation. You need to imagine what someone would say to another person and then put it on the page. Don’t be afraid if it feels like you’re talking to yourself — that just means you’re writing well.
This means OnSIP customers can now insert custom music, advertisements, company announcements, self-recorded messages, or any other pertinent audio media, into their on-hold music. Additionally, these custom messages can be scheduled to play at specific times on specific days!
A typical Message on Hold program is 4 minutes long. Because a voice over talent typically reads between 100 and 112 words per minute, the script for a four-minute program can be up to 400 words, allowing for four to six paragraphs or messages, interspersed by brief intervals of music. Longer audio storage and program lengths are available if necessary.
Custom On Hold Messages elevate your brand and increase sales — and they’re affordable!
No list of top 10 “on hold” songs would be complete without an appearance by one of Motown’s finest groups. You may find that moment when you are taken off hold to be a “miracle” of sorts, depending on how long you are kept waiting.

Holding too tightly can lead to a loss of control, apparently. I assume Don Barnes was referring to being kept waiting on the phone. Mind your grip on that receiver, gang.

I haven't used this device for an extended period, but since there are no mechanical parts, I expect that it will last. We have been using a professional on hold service for many years at about $60/month. The box that the professional company gave us sounded great when customers would call from a Lan Line. But, when calling from cell phone the voice messages were lower volume and the music would sound horrible. Music keeps cutting in and out and sounds very staticky. So we decided to save some $ and cancel our subscription and buy this unit. We are using the default music and voice messages that came preloaded instead of doing our own music and messages.
-When callers are presented with On Hold Messaging vs. silence or a radio commercial they will stay on hold longer, they are more likely to exhibit interest in the product advertised, they are more likely to retain information, and they are less agitated.
