As you begin your search for an on hold messages service provider, you’ll find many companies advertising that they can do the job for you. But, you don’t want just any company, nor do you want the same ho-hum, boring hold-music heard at most businesses, because boring is something your business can’t afford to be. You want a provider that adds real value to your bottom line, you want an on hold company that’s responsive to your needs, has a proven track record, and finally, you want a provider that makes the process easy, so you don’t have to!
Fantastic customer service from Lee when he set up an automatic answer message system for us. Nothing was too much trouble and he helped to solve our problem very quickly and easily. Thanks for all of your help.

At Professional Voice Greetings we are happy to provide on-hold messaging starting from just $38.98 ($34.99 base price + $3.99 for the on-hold messaging option). Purchase by going to the Voice Samples page, select a voice, add background music if you wish, and write your script. Then, during the checkout process, be sure to select the button that asks if you are buying on-hold messaging.
Call hold/call wait is a network feature (while it is activated by the handset) as such any music would be supplied by your carrier, there should be some there but chances are it's some wonderfull elevator style stuff (I'm partial to Brahms myself 😉 ). Don’t miss out on an opportunity to educate and entertain your callers (bundled with the possibility of making that extra sale, which is always a plus). You can utilize on hold messages in a variety of ways to get engagement from your callers and to ensure they feel in control. All it takes is the right script, the right voice, and habitual updates dashed with a little bit of creativity.
Curation by context is the game of late. We choose music by our mood, by our activity, and by our audience. Spotify lets you browse by mood and events, showcasing playlists that cross multiple genres because music can’t be sorted into individual boxes.
The idea of creating a custom on-hold message may sound daunting, but advancements in technology have made it a lot easier in the last few years. In its simplest form, all you need is an audio file. Before you start, check with your IT support team or phone system vendor to see if there are any special requirements you need to be aware of.
- Audio file names should contain only upper and lower case letters, numbers, underscores, and a single dot ‘.’ symbol only.
