5.0 out of 5 stars Solved our royalty-free hold music problem It works perfectly as advertised and solved our royalty-free hold music problem. When it arrived, we installed it with our office telephone system and have never needed to worry about it again. It has such a wide selection that callers get different music every time they call - it does not noticeably repeat. We even got a few compliments from clients in the first month (who had apparently got tired of our old 45-second repeating loop). Terrible product, will not work at all I have purchased 2 of them hoping it was a glitch but neither work, in addition I called support, no help at all, said they would call back-never did.
So what can we do to avoid inflicting further musical misery on our own customers while they’re patiently sitting on hold? We could just go back to playing a ringing sound, or an intermittent beep just to let people know they’re still connected, but that would be awfully dull. The best compromise is relatively simple electronic music that doesn't have too much going on as the ideal choice for hold music as it requires far less refined sound quality to get a decent rendition down a telephone connection.

Our blog post - how to choose the best voice for on-hold marketing has some crucial information you should consider before selecting a voice-over talent for your on-hold messages.
Most businesses aim to answer the telephone within 3 rings but we know that isn't always possible. The research showed that a typical business using on hold marketing had 100 calls a day with an average hold time of 30 seconds for 57% of callers. This translates to half an hour a day, every day, of messaging to on-hold customers. That's 3+ weeks a year!

You will most likely run into the typical Stalingrad-esque repeating messages that state how important your call is to the business. It is only slightly less annoying to have some form of default music that plays on a loop, and gives you the virtual experience of being stuck in an elevator, listening to muzak ad infinitum.
Depending on which ESI phone you have, use the appr opriate diagram (below) to connect it. Each diagram represents the panel on the phone’s underside. Note: The “Top of phone” and “Bottom of phone” references in these diagrams show the correct vertical orientation of the phone — i.e., the part with the display is the top.
