Your customers can hold on or hang up. You can keep callers on the line and make the most of their hold time with an original on hold message created specifically for your business. Reduce hang ups, create interest in what you offer and drive sales by keeping your callers on the line with information that will make the time fly by.
Combine with a Business Intro Message to provide menu options and assist in telephone navigation. As opposed to the passive nature of Messages On Hold, voice prompts are interactive. They are designed to bring out a physical reaction from the caller, a call to action. And because voice prompts are directive, it’s important they’re concise, well written, and recorded by a professional voice artist.

I have used On Hold Audio by Advanced Productions since opening our law firm. The owner and all team members are professional, timely, creative, easy to work with and always on-point. I love their on hold voice selections; their on hold music selections are numerous and varied. I will not work with any other company for my on hold needs. Fausto is particularly amazing and their prices are very reasonable. All projects were delivered ahead of schedule!

You will most likely run into the typical Stalingrad-esque repeating messages that state how important your call is to the business. It is only slightly less annoying to have some form of default music that plays on a loop, and gives you the virtual experience of being stuck in an elevator, listening to muzak ad infinitum.
If it is a genre, hold music, it's fair to say, is a troubled one with few hits. It's not really meant to be loved or even listened to — it's meant to communicate something specific: Don't hang up. (Cornell makes this plea specifically at the end of his song.) Silence is believed to be a death knell for phone calls — people will simply think the line is dead and hang up. This is true even on non-hold calls; it's why phone companies transmit something called a "comfort tone" over phone lines, a barely audible synthetic noise that signals a connection is still there.
2) An experienced and reputable on-hold messaging provider uses a royalty-free music, or they should offer licensing as part of the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars much cheaper option than professional on-hold service I used to use a professional on-hold service which would charge me about $500 every time I wanted to change my on hold message. This product works exactly as it states. I did not use the software that came with it, but with a few online searches it was easy to figure out how to convert a voice memo on my iphone to a compatible file, and background music is easy to find online too. So I read from a script I wrote with background music playing and made a voice memo on my iphone, converted it to the appropriate music file with free online software, and dragged and dropped the file into the usb drive they provided. Very low tech but the end result is excellent and I can change it up as often as I want. Very pleased with the purchase. I have an older phone system that came with my business when I started renting. There was a male adapter plug that was plugged into a CD player, but if the CD player was not running, I got no sound for "on hold". Sometimes I would remember to turn on the CD and put it on repeat, but...somethimes it would be turned off for months (the system is in an enclosed stairwell that is hard to get to).
It's a panoptic experience, being on hold while listening to someone singing about being on hold. Depending how long it takes for someone else to join the call, you could be listening for awhile. The music builds as time goes on, culminating in a spoken verse that begins: "Well, let me tell you all a story / about a man who was on hold all day..." This unusually self-aware song is the default music for a conference call service called UberConference, where "I'm On Hold" plays on a loop for anyone who calls in early, on almost every call that doesn't start exactly when it's scheduled to (or doesn't ever start at all). It's selected by nine out of ten call organizers, and plays over a million times per month, says Craig Walker, CEO of Dialpad, owner of UberConference.
