So I read from a script I wrote with background music playing and made a voice memo on my iphone, converted it to the appropriate music file with free online software, and dragged and dropped the file into the usb drive they provided. Very low tech but the end result is excellent and I can change it up as often as I want. Very pleased with the purchase. I have an older phone system that came with my business when I started renting. There was a male adapter plug that was plugged into a CD player, but if the CD player was not running, I got no sound for "on hold". Sometimes I would remember to turn on the CD and put it on repeat, but...somethimes it would be turned off for months (the system is in an enclosed stairwell that is hard to get to).

Power is on, the USB will play on computer, tried to use a different USB with the machine still woulnt work. This is a lot less expensive than another CD changer, a lot smaller, and it allows us to hear the song being played (with its small internal speaker.) the volume control allows us to set the volume that caller will hear.
