Generic music can help keep them on the line, but why waste money playing pointless music, that requires a license to play, when you can be promoting what your company does?
Had dealings with Gordon today, brilliant service thank you very much. Great team at Birmingham Telecom. Always helpful.

This category of hold music is for use on phone systems based in the US and Canada. (See our Global License Library for music licensed for worldwide use.) Each category contains several tracks. Each track is about 4 minutes in length, but lengths do …
If you think about, the cost of “NOT HAVING” on hold messages is far greater than any investment you may make in custom on hold messages. Why? A lost call equals a lost sale and a lost customer. Two things no business owner wants to hear. And to make matters worse, you also have to consider the wasted advertising spend you invested in order to generate that call. It’s estimated that caller abandonment (caller hangups) cost businesses billions of dollars each year.
5. TO SOUND UP-TO-DATE. Adding seasonal, holiday, or other temporary messages such a facility closures or construction notification to Message-On-Hold features helps make your business communicative, attentive, and that ever important quality of being “personable”.

There’s even a fairly steady stream of surveys and news articles on the subject, all of which confirm that hold music is one of the aspects of contacting call centres that really drives people nuts. Some studies even go as far as to suggest that the use of bad hold music is regularly viewed as bad customer service.

It would be helpful to be able to choose a greeting for the voicemail override on the online portal and the pc phone app instead of just on the mobile app. The doctor's cell phone is connected to weave, but we do not have office cell phones. The doctor wants the front office staff to be able to handle changing the office phones and greetings without having to ask to use his personal cell phone and he does not want to require the front office staff to connect their personal cell phones to Weave in order to choose a greeting for the Voicemail override. Please consider adding this feature to the online portal. Thanks. Kristina Tague commented · November 27, 2019 9:28 AM · Flag as inappropriateFlag as inappropriate · Edit… · Delete…

A well written script is the cornerstone of any great on hold message. It must capture the caller’s attention, so they remain engaged while navigating menu options or waiting on hold. The script that callers hear can set the tone for the rest of the conversation. It should also be in line with your goals, which can be broken down to 3 main objectives. It can be to inform the caller, promote the brand or product, or just entertain the caller. Most of all, it has to be engaging.
Professionally recorded phone messages and greetings are the perfect way to promote and re-enforce your business brand when customers call the business. They will put a professional touch to any message and enhance your business image. Choose between a male or female voice, recorded in the tone best suited to your business. Ideal for Business Intro Messages at the start of the call, Auto Attendant (IVR) prompts, Voicemail greetings such as one for an After-Hours Service, and On-Hold Messages. Incorporate background music for that extra touch.
The cost of a message/music on hold system depends on whether you require physical media equipment. Digital MOH equipment can cost between $150 to $1,500, due to differences in the type of hardware and its capabilities (i.e. included phones, or phone line and extension capacity). If you already have on hold equipment, a virtual media MOH system is typically billed as a one time fee or yearly contract ($100 to $700). Vendors may charge a one time set up fee (up to $100) and charge additional monthly ($50 to $90) or quarterly fees ($75 to $95). Many offer free 30 day system trials. On Hold Messaging System Sample Costs InteliTouch MOH500E Music on Hold Adaptor for NON Ksu Phone - The Telecom Spot - $55 (free shipping) - On-hold audio capability for single or multi-line phones (music on hold for 1-4 lines & up to 16 extensions). Hold button activation requires a TEHMA device on each extension; purchase includes 2 TEHMAS.
Ultimately, your choice of hold music isn’t going to make customers happy if they’re being kept waiting for more than a few minutes, or endlessly passed from one team to another. There are plenty of technologies available to make the inbound call experience faster and more enjoyable although these will vary between different call centre solutions. If you’re not sure what tools you have available to optimise your inbound experience, your call centre software or systems provider will be happy to help.
Your file will be delivered to you with 15 seconds of background music (or blank airtime if you do not choose background music) after the voice message. This will give you 15 seconds of music (or blank airtime) between each message when run in a loop.
