So I read from a script I wrote with background music playing and made a voice memo on my iphone, converted it to the appropriate music file with free online software, and dragged and dropped the file into the usb drive they provided. Very low tech but the end result is excellent and I can change it up as often as I want. Very pleased with the purchase. I have an older phone system that came with my business when I started renting. There was a male adapter plug that was plugged into a CD player, but if the CD player was not running, I got no sound for "on hold".
