1) If you should require the necessary hardware, an experienced and reputable on-hold messaging provider should have a list of equipment options that you can choose from. They should be able to thoroughly explain the pros and cons of each, and guide you through or arrange for it to be professionally installed.

We can produce on-hold comfort messages or on-hold marketing messages and mix them with your selected music track.
On-hold messages let your customers know you haven't forgotten about them, and they are also a great advertising tool. While your customers are on hold you can tell them why your company is the best, or tell them about new product offerings. You pay only once for production, then the air time is free!

Here are a few things to keep in mind to have a killer script your callers will be receptive to: Speak to your audience: When creating a script, make sure you know WHO you’re talking to above anything else. Is it moms, teenagers or middle-aged men who like golf? Appeal to their interests in relation to your business with a captive voice, and they’ll be much more willing to listen (and be patient while doing so). Time it appropriately: You know your business better than anyone else, so as such, you’re probably aware of a caller’s average hold times. While this can vary with growth and other factors, make sure you record enough messages to fill the time so a caller isn’t stuck hearing an eternal loop of the same 3 messages. They’ll thank you for it by being far less irritated. Stay current: Some companies have seasonal sales and changes, so including this in your script as the year progresses means you remain relevant with the latest and greatest. For example, during the holidays you can say “Seasons greetings from Fletcher’s Flowers...” or something similar. You can also include event notifications, advertisements, and other informational messages so they learn more about your business. Be natural: Think about how you’d like to be talked to. Typically, a robot isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Writing for auditory purposes elicits a different approach than writing for digital or print. Make sure whatever your script is that you read it aloud, and test it out on coworkers or friends. If they get bored or disengage, chances are, your callers will too. Know their path: What’s your end goal for what you’d like your caller to accomplish? Tailor your messaging to them based on what you come up with. If you’d like to upsell, consider using some on hold time to discuss a company-wide promotion they can take advantage of, or a fun fact about your industry they wouldn’t know. Give a call-back option: If your phone system has the feature and a caller doesn’t have time to spend on hold, offer them the option to receive a callback without affecting their position in line, or to leave a message. This can alleviate the stress of waiting.
To keep the information in your program current, you should review your script whenever your business has updated policies or procedures, new promotions or special offers, or changing customer service strategies.
Since your information will be on a recorded loop, it is good practice to include music in between loops to break up the information for the consumer.
We put together some resources for a mix of both free-to-use and royalty-free hold music:
Statistics show that approximately 34% of callers who hang up will never call you back. In addition, callers wait an estimated 70% longer on the line when they are listening to interesting information about the company they are calling. These statistics suggest that providing a customized message that is tailored to your company can be more effective than playing music or leaving the customer in silence while they’re on hold.
For the Wagon Yard, we developed a 2-minute recording using a combination of story telling and informative narrative with music and sound effects. 1. TO IMPROVE HOW LONG CALLERS ARE WILLING TO STAY ON HOLD. Statistics from a CNN survey cited by Chron.com state that “70 percent of callers who are placed on hold with just silence hang up within 60 seconds; of them, 35 percent won’t call back.”
“The service we have received from Media Music Now has been fantastic. The process was managed quickly and efficient from start to finish and the quality of what was an unintentionally tricky edit is seamless. We now have a professional sounding IVR and great on-hold marketing packages all for a very reasonable price." Steve Jones, CCC & SchoolCare
It would be helpful to be able to choose a greeting for the voicemail override on the online portal and the pc phone app instead of just on the mobile app. The doctor's cell phone is connected to weave, but we do not have office cell phones. The doctor wants the front office staff to be able to handle changing the office phones and greetings without having to ask to use his personal cell phone and he does not want to require the front office staff to connect their personal cell phones to Weave in order to choose a greeting for the Voicemail override. Please consider adding this feature to the online portal. Thanks. Kristina Tague commented · November 27, 2019 9:28 AM · Flag as inappropriateFlag as inappropriate · Edit… · Delete…
The best hold music has few instruments and preferably only one. Simple music handles the change in quality better than a full orchestra arrangement. The latter gets distorted, particularly if it’s too loud for the phone to handle and clipping happens. No one wants to hear a dirge-like cacophony masquerading as “Pachelbel’s Canon in D.”
