To get a better idea of what we’re about you can listen to some examples of on hold messages we’ve produced below. Do you need an audio project voiced in a specific accent, style, or language?
Here are a few things to keep in mind to have a killer script your callers will be receptive to: Speak to your audience: When creating a script, make sure you know WHO you’re talking to above anything else. Is it moms, teenagers or middle-aged men who like golf? Appeal to their interests in relation to your business with a captive voice, and they’ll be much more willing to listen (and be patient while doing so). Time it appropriately: You know your business better than anyone else, so as such, you’re probably aware of a caller’s average hold times. While this can vary with growth and other factors, make sure you record enough messages to fill the time so a caller isn’t stuck hearing an eternal loop of the same 3 messages. They’ll thank you for it by being far less irritated. Stay current: Some companies have seasonal sales and changes, so including this in your script as the year progresses means you remain relevant with the latest and greatest. For example, during the holidays you can say “Seasons greetings from Fletcher’s Flowers...” or something similar. You can also include event notifications, advertisements, and other informational messages so they learn more about your business. Be natural: Think about how you’d like to be talked to. Typically, a robot isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Writing for auditory purposes elicits a different approach than writing for digital or print. Make sure whatever your script is that you read it aloud, and test it out on coworkers or friends. If they get bored or disengage, chances are, your callers will too. Know their path: What’s your end goal for what you’d like your caller to accomplish? Tailor your messaging to them based on what you come up with. If you’d like to upsell, consider using some on hold time to discuss a company-wide promotion they can take advantage of, or a fun fact about your industry they wouldn’t know. Give a call-back option: If your phone system has the feature and a caller doesn’t have time to spend on hold, offer them the option to receive a callback without affecting their position in line, or to leave a message. This can alleviate the stress of waiting.

Where this creates an extra snag with music on hold is that the loudest part of a song doesn’t typically come in until the final chorus or reprise. This means that if you just listen to the first 10 seconds to check that your new hold music is working, then chances are you’ll be blissfully unaware that three minutes into holding (just as customers are beginning to feel irritated anyway), you start playing a sound like fingernails on a blackboard to them.
The difference between writing a script and writing for print is that scripts must be written for the ear and written for effective delivery by voice talent. It must be written in a conversational tone. When you create a script that’s listenable, your callers will better understand your business.
The NEC DSX has a built in Message On Hold mailbox that allows the System Administrator to record a message that will play to callers while they wait on Hold. For example, you can record a message summarizing available services or hours of operation. This message will play to callers as soon as you put them on Hold, and continually repeat as long as they remain on Hold.

Work with professional narrators that reflect your company's image. There is basically no time to save money, and use someone with a great voice. Narrating, is a profession and goes far beyond the sound of the voice.
Your choice of male or female professional voiceover artist, you can choose both if you prefer (a small additional charge), flexibility is the key to providing you with a product that will sell, educate and promote when your client is on hold.
This is the BIGGEST FLAW / WEAKNESSS of weave. Please add a multicast loop option that can play our message on hold file continuously and drop patients in as they call. Otherwise people hear the same thing over and over. This is a perfect way to help introduce patients to the office and market our services while patients are on hold.
2 days after ordering my Grace Message Player, it came from Amazon in perfect condition (I got prime yo!). I plugged the power cord in, and plugged the male thingy into the Grace thingy, and bam, we have had on hold music ever since. After a few minutes of music, they have a male voice come on explaining that we care but we are busy...we have not forgotten you etc etc, and then some more music, and then a female voice saying basically the same thing. I guess I could load an mp3 with some sales stuff on it, but I kind of like the neutural message that they already had on the machine. I am sooo glad I got this thing. Highly recommended. If you don't like it or it does not work, I bet Amazon would take it back, too.
Generic pop songs perform better than those with prosocial lyrics or instrumental music. It turns out people calling in with grievances don’t want to hear songs about helping the world, and stereotypical elevator music triggers anger when on hold for extended periods.
When it came to integration with our platform, these new Easy On Hold features were incorporated seamlessly. "In testing, I was quite surprised at how little time the whole set up process took and how efficiently the stream stood up to testing," said NOC Technician Eric Phipps. "It's very rare that we encounter a new product that integrates so quickly and hassle free in the testing phase."
The idea of creating a custom on-hold message may sound daunting, but advancements in technology have made it a lot easier in the last few years.
