Tip: If you are a larger business and this is a voicemail that pertains to the general business number, then you want to sound professional and provide as much information as you think is necessary for a potential client. Usually, the company website URL or the company email is a good way to get the customer to contact you through other means.

46. Hello, you’ve reached [name], [job title] at [company]. I’m currently away from my desk or on another call. Please leave a detailed message so I can return your call as soon as I get back.

That is a good point. If these are patients and family members calling in maybe something like "Have a peaceful day" would be better.
New voicemail & password setup. Make sure to set up your voicemail within 60 days of activation or it’ll be automatically removed from your account. From your wireless phone, press and hold 1 or the Voicemail key. Select your language preference. Create a 7 to 15-digit password. Select your preferred greeting.
No one wants to listen to a two-minute voicemail greeting. Keep it short and upbeat and start with a simple “Hello! Thank you for calling
“Hi, you’ve called [name] at [XYZ company]. I’m currently busy [hiking through a rainforest, exploring China, climbing Mount Peru etc.] and so I can’t take your call right now. I won’t be back in the office until [date] and I look forward to hearing from you then.
Hi! I seem to be in the room, but I can’t quite locate my phone at the moment. If you leave a message and number, I’ll ring you up whenever I find it, or if you happen to know where I left it, let me know!
If they are calling without an expectation that you always pick up (such as if you are a business coach or a one-man shop) then thanking them for calling might make the most sense.
