While email and text support saw an increase in recent years, many customers, partners, and potential hires still prefer to call your company directly. When writing your voicemail script, include basic information such as a short greeting, your company name, an invitation to leave a short message, and the time frame in which the caller can expect a return call. If relevant, you may want to include your office hours, extensions for company departments, and the contact information for your office manager or HR department.

This ensures understanding and helps the prospect write it down accurately. However, don’t repeat yourself—say the same thing in a different way.
A solid sales voicemail can't be too intrusive or read like a list of demands. At no point should you say something like, "You need to call me back," or sound frustrated by the fact that they haven't gotten in touch with you.

If after 2 solid phone/voicemail/email attempts (which counts as 6 touches, not including any drip emails or LinkedIn messages/connection requests that they may have gotten in between calls 1 and 2) I’ll leave a 3rd voicemail message (followed by an email, of course) that simply says something along the lines of:
Take a deep breath before beginning and stay calm while speaking. Try practicing a few times beforehand if you need to. No rule says you have to build out what you want to say on the fly.
After leaving four or five messages without receiving a response, you should stop calling – at least for now. Don't expect the courtesy of a call back from a hiring authority. Unless they have a need for someone like you, it is not likely that they will call you back. Don't take it personally. In the U.K. and most of Europe it is considered good manners to leave a slightly longer answering message as it gives the person time to adjust to the fact that they've been put through to an answering machine, compose a message in their head and then get ready to speak. It also leaves the caller with the impression of someone who is calm, composed, polite and not rushing around like a chicken without a head.
2. Press the Star or Pound Key. Depending on your carrier, you will likely push one of these two keys next. It's more common to push the star key. When you hear your voicemail start, that's when you should press either the star (*) or the pound (#) key. For AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile, press the star (*) key. Verizon, Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile users should press the pound (#) key. If you are using a different carrier, you can check its website or call customer service to be sure.
