A sales voicemail is no time to lock into the technical specs of your product or service. You can't take it as an opportunity to describe the nuances of how all of its features work — complete with confusing, technical jargon and long-winded detail.
See how this voicemail is straightforward, clear and concise? This might be a good script to start with if you’re new to making calls to leads. Always talk in a friendly voice and come from a place of caring (they’ll feel it on the other end of the line). After you’ve used the script for awhile, you’ll learn how leads are reacting to the voicemail and you can rescript it if necessary. Avoid piecing your voicemail together on the fly — as I mentioned earlier, a good one is backed by preparation. So prepare, prepare, and prepare some more.
For example, a covered entity might want to consider leaving only its name and number and other information necessary to confirm an appointment, or ask the individual to call back. A covered entity also may leave a message with a family member or other person who answers the phone when the patient is not home.
Second, when a marketing voicemail is handled correctly, it can actually add value to the recipient’s life. You just have to know what you’re doing.
