I’m calling because [reason for calling]. I’d love to talk to you about [benefit you can offer if they call back].
Even if you have this feature, it can only be used to send messages to contacts with the same carrier as you. So Verizon customers can send voice messages only to other Verizon customers, for example.
Or, if they need to refinance, tell them that you know about current rates. And, you can provide them with guidance on if the timing is right. Staying honest and genuine will give you credibility and encourage them to return your call. After all, you are trying to become their trusted advisor, and the voicemail is the first attempt at this.
You also don't want to confuse them with too much technical jargon and complex vocab. Keep things on the lighter side and approach your voicemails conversationally.

Remember that we can hear a smile in another person's voice, just as we can discern whether that individual is completely present and focused. Smart phones have the ability to record. Smart people take advantage of this tool and record themselves before leaving a message. And yes, it takes time. Precious time.
