You may feel the need to erase your voicemail for many reasons, other than just trying to rekindle your old love! Maybe you are leaving a voicemail to your boss and you use inappropriate language in the heat of the moment. Perhaps you are sending a voicemail to your supplier and miss out important details. Sometimes you may not word your message properly, or you might leave a voicemail that is difficult to comprehend.

When we call our friends and family, we often call and hang up without leaving a voicemail -assuming the missed call will be notification enough that we want this person to call us back. Even though this is acceptable to do in our personal lives, phone call etiquette in the corporate world plays by different rules.
When your marketing voicemail goes on for too long, you can lose the contact completely. Or, even if they do stick with you through the whole thing, they may lose the main point of why you’re calling. Keeping your voicemail between 20 and 30 seconds is enough time to make your elevator pitch without over-talking.
Traditional voicemail services once offered this feature, but visual voicemail (with a visual interface that lets you access messages directly) has mostly eliminated that possibility. If your phone does not have visual voicemail, and you have to call an inbox to hear your messages, you may still be able to use this feature.
We are hoping this can be done before the outgoing message is accidentally deleted.

Make sure your sales voicemails convey the hard results customers see more than they relay how those results are achieved. Your first priority is grabbing your prospect's attention — you can dig into the nitty-gritty aspects of a sale as your relationship progresses.
