Recently one of my students asked a great question about voicemail in English and I thought that you might have the same question as well.

You can see how this short exercise of writing the messages down can really be helpful.
Go and click the Start button on the recording tool few seconds prior playing your voicemail. When you are done, simply hit Stop to stop the recording.
Reading from a note will help you say what you want without any hiccups or interruptions. Call the person and keep your notes in hand. Once you’re in recording mode, read out from the note to sound as professional as possible.
If you do leave a message, ask yourself, “Would I return this call?” If you hesitate to say yes, change your message.

For small businesses, there are a variety of voicemail service providers you can use that offer different features. From transcription and voice to text to more convenient features of handling multiple phones through one number, availability varies by service. Shared voicemail and call routing is intended for multiple access and directing calls to one or multiple phones. Mobile apps are also available that allow you to check your messages from your phone. Conducting extra research on your prospects before you call them is always a good idea. This script from Mike Brooks is a great example of how you can use this additional information in your sales voicemails.
Second, when a marketing voicemail is handled correctly, it can actually add value to the recipient’s life. You just have to know what you’re doing.
15. "This is Bond. James Bond. Okay, it's really [your last name]. [Your first name] [your last name]. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm done helping M16 save the world — which will probably be tomorrow at the latest. Have a good day."
Press 3 to erase your voicemail. You can start over again if you like, but you don’t have to.
“(Intro) I’m calling regarding the voicemail I left you (earlier today/yesterday) about (example: how we recently helped competitor 1, 2, and 3 avoid ______ while ______) and wanted to see if it would make sense for us to have a conversation to determine if what we do would be of some help to you as well. If you’d like to discuss this further you can reach me at __________. I’ll send a follow up email to this message so if it’s easier to reply that way you can or if you’d rather talk via the phone, again, my number is _________.”
When your small business is closed, ensure that your callers know that! If appropriate, you might want to reiterate your business hours to manage callback expectations.
But the questions you ask in a voicemail should be so specific that they could never be intended for another listener. For example, if I was selling financial management technology, I might ask the voicemail recipient which financial software they use today, or if all of the company's financial analysts work out of the central office.
"The way I see voicemail is that the main purpose of it is to direct the prospect to your email. You only really have five or 10 seconds within that voicemail to capture their attention, so I have a specific script that I use which makes sure that they know who I am and where I'm calling from so that they can go back to their inbox and then search it up...I'll say, "Hi Scott, this is Florin calling from Loopio. I sent you an email yesterday regarding improving your RFP response process. But I have not heard back from you. Can you give it a quick glance and reply back? Again it's Florin calling from Loopio.'"
You can turn off and then turn on Cellular Service from Settings or Control Center.
