Professional development educator Dr. Ray Lauk sent us this great piece of advice, which he credits to veteran sales trainer Stan Piskorski:
Activity Menu: This menu includes the Initial activities you can select after logging into the system. After you log in, you use your phone keys to access menu options. There are layers of menus, and their options are described as you progress through each activity. The first layer is called the Activity Menu. You can always get back to the main menu by pressing *R (or *7).
Remember that the speed of your words can negatively impact your message as well. "If you have to rush to get a message into the amount of time allotted for a voicemail message, you’re saying too much," DeCesare advises. "Say less and slow down. You want them to feel that talking to you will make their lives less stressful. If you're frantic and mumbling on the phone, it gives them a foreshadowing of what it will be like to work with you."
You may wish to record a personalized voicemail greeting on your Intermedia phone. For detailed instructions click on the specific phone model.
And for the prospect or client that seems to be dodging you or just not calling you back:
Rehearse or write down your message before recording it. Remember that old saying “practice makes perfect?” It’s certainly true when it comes to creating an electronic greeting. The more you’ve rehearsed, the easier the message will be to restate. If you don’t have time to practice, writing down the greeting before recording it – and then reading it aloud from the paper – may help you stay focused on the correct wording.

Hi! So sorry it took me a few days to respond. I’m so sorry to hear what you’ve been going through. There are a few recorders that we mention in the post, but if those don’t work, try the service that Bonnie mentioned on the comments (http://www.voicemailsforever.com) or try contacting ATT and see if they have any ideas for you. One other option might be a portable speaker that so many stores have now, that you can use to listen to music on your cell phone or tablet. They really amplify sound. Let me know how things work out! Laura
If I get a message like that – I would be wondering: Who is me? I still like it when people leave their name, I don’t have to be guessing who is calling.
