It seems like it’s something really simple, but it’s critical to your business to get the most out of your prospecting time…. So what’s the right way leave a voicemail???
Use the Temporary Greeting when you want to record a greeting that you plan to use for a limited time (for example an out-of-office greeting). Press the Message Key. Enter your password, followed by the # key. Press 0 for Mailbox Options. Press 4 to record your Temporary Greeting After the tone, record your temporary greeting. Press # when finished. Follow the prompts to confirm or record the greeting again.

In Microsoft 365, you can record a greeting, edit call answering rules, set up Outlook Voice Access, edit text message and email notification settings, and turn on voice mail preview using Outlook on the web.
The trick is to stay on the line even if you’ve already recorded the message. Never make the mistake of hanging up, as you will never be able to save yourself! So what should you do?
How long should a voicemail be? A good voice mail should be like a Super Bowl commercial, right around 30 seconds.

Don’t give up when you don’t receive a call from lead you’ve reached out to. You will need to make at least a handful of calls, plus emails and texts, over the next couple of weeks to maximize your chances of speaking to the lead. You may find that leads don’t want to speak directly to you but will communicate through text or email. No matter the avenue of conversation, consider it a win when they start conversing with you through any form of communication. Be persistent. If you don’t hear from them after weeks of effort, nurture them through a drip email campaign. All of the effort you put forth to reach out to the lead may not result in an immediate response but, they may call you in six months and that is a win.
Funny, the majority of us have a phone on us more hours of the day than not, but actually we’re harder to talk to than ever. On personal calls, and especially business calls, you’re much more likely to reach voicemail than the actual person you’re hoping to engage in conversation.
