My name is Milena from englishmadesimple.net, I’m the host of this amazing podcast, going over 2 years now! Sounds crazy I know!
First, I got the information about the meeting. I will meet you in the building lobby at 2:30. See you then. You might want to repeat your number at the end of your message. That would sound like, "Again, my number is xxx-xxxx should you need it." Then just hang up. There is nothing rude about that; you don't need to say good-bye, since there was no conversation.
.
This script comes from Donato Diorio and it's quite simple and to the point. But it still does a great job of highlighting prospect benefits and the follow-up plan.
If you really mean it, say you will return the call as soon as possible. For example, "This is Mary Mitchell. Please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can." If you want to give another option to reach you, go ahead, but limit it only to one telephone number or email address.
Repeat both at least twice during your voicemail. With regards to your telephone number, pauses in your speech will give your listener a chance to catch up and not miss any details. For example, say your telephone number this way “1-2-3- pause -4-5-6- pause -7-8- pause -9-10″. If you need to leave an email address, spell it out.
When leaving your voicemail and phone number, do not say, "Please call me back at ..." Nothing sounds more like a salesperson making a cold call then saying, "please call me back at...".
Many 18- to 34-year-olds feel that way. But step inside the office, and the old rules still apply. There's no escaping the beep.
The easiest way to listen to your voicemail is to call your mailbox. Either dial your mobile number from your phone or use quick-dial access:

21. "Hello, you've reached [your name, the office of X company]. The team is currently out of the office, but we'll be back on [date] stuffed with good food and eager to speak with you. Leave your name, number, and — if you're so inclined — your favorite [holiday dish, Thanksgiving tradition, etc.]"
You can also try leaving two voicemails. In other words, rather than leaving one 30-second message, record a 20-second voicemail -- then immediately call back and leave a 10-second one.
She said, “Hi Anne Marie, I’m wondering in how to leave a very good voice message or even set up my own voice message when I can’t pick up my phone. Thanks in advance.”
If you like to keep things simple, opt for a basic greeting. Most voicemail options allow you to record just your name, which lets callers know they’ve reached the right person.
We also send your voicemail to the email address you designate in your account for voicemail in a .wav file format. Can I turn voicemail off or change the time before voicemail picks up?
