Business voicemail greetings are rarely thought of as a prime way to connect with customers. But just because you're not available doesn't mean you can't make a positive impression on your customers when they reach your voicemail box.
It doesn’t matter what you save to your phone, computer or tablet — everything you keep on your devices should be considered private unless you give someone else permission to look through your files, images and apps.
Think about if you were someone working in the corporate world, what kind of voicemail would you like to receive, and try to keep that image in mind when leaving a voicemail.
See how this voicemail is straightforward, clear and concise? This might be a good script to start with if you’re new to making calls to leads. Always talk in a friendly voice and come from a place of caring (they’ll feel it on the other end of the line). After you’ve used the script for awhile, you’ll learn how leads are reacting to the voicemail and you can rescript it if necessary. Keep in mind, you will be calling the lead MANY times so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try different scripts. To be most effective with your voicemail scripts, keeps notes on what’s working and what isn’t.

4. Engage Your Callers. It may not seem like it, but a business voicemail isn’t that different from a regular business conversation. If you create a dialogue between your callers and yourself, you’re gonna have much more engaged, upbeat, and satisfied callers.
In certain situations, it’s a good idea to let a call go to voicemail. If you’re in a loud area, unable to spend 10-15 minutes talking, or are otherwise distracted, don’t answer. Recruiters who cold-call candidates will understand that you’re simply unavailable – but make sure to return calls in a timely manner. If possible, call back during regular business hours.
