Why not shorter than 20 seconds? The voicemail indicator will tell the contact how long the message is, and if it’s just 5 or 10 seconds, it may seem like a spam call or a wrong number, which means they won’t listen to it at all. Messages between 20 and 30 seconds seem important enough to listen to but not so long that they’re off-putting for the contact.
It might be a straightforward approach, but it's not effective in the slightest. As soon as the prospect realizes this voicemail is a sales pitch from a salesperson, it's getting deleted. And if you lead with your name and company, the prospect's finger hits the delete key almost immediately.

You may feel the need to erase your voicemail for many reasons, other than just trying to rekindle your old love! Maybe you are leaving a voicemail to your boss and you use inappropriate language in the heat of the moment. Perhaps you are sending a voicemail to your supplier and miss out important details. Sometimes you may not word your message properly, or you might leave a voicemail that is difficult to comprehend.
Remember, your prospects (and you too, if you're honest) care mainly about themselves. In other words, your sales voicemails will be much more successful if the benefit to the prospect is clearly stated.

Would you be more inclined to want to interview someone who is shouting about how much they hate calling people back, or the person who simply asks you to leave a message? The first two are voicemails for prospects you haven’t spoken with yet, the next one is for when you’re calling a prospect or client back, and the last example is for when your prospect or client isn’t calling you back at all:

We work with a lot of companies in the area, and I think you’ll find it useful if we talk.
20-30 seconds is the sweet spot. A voicemail in this timeframe sparks curiosity without demanding too much time.

You can also upload an unavailable greeting using the OnSIP app. After logging in, click on the Voicemail Settings gear icon at the far right. Make sure that the Custom Greeting is toggled to "on."
