There is something about that voicemail beep that sends brains into panic mode, and we will start spewing out words as fast as possible to get the awkwardness of talking to a machine over with. I’m calling because [reason for calling]. I’d love to talk to you about [benefit you can offer if they call back].
“I followed your advice on how to leave voicemail messages that get more callbacks and since using it, my call backs have increased. But my question is, what do I do with the prospects that haven’t called back?”
Finally get an answering machine. Now how does this thing work? Hmmm. Press record button, I did that, and the light should be on. I wonder why it’s not working right. Hmmmm, I wonder what this button does……
Avoid telling your prospect what to do. You'll make returning your call seem like a chore or, worse, a demand. This should feel like a mutually beneficial relationship -- one in which each party wants to call the other back -- unprompted.
Most of the time this error is caused by the connectivity of your phone to a cellular network or WiFi connection. The easiest way for solving this issue is by turning the Airplane Mode ON. On your main screen of the phone, you can swap down the notification bar and tap on the Airplane Mode option. Once it is ON all the connectivity to your phone will be turned off. You can wait for 30 seconds and then turn it back OFF by using the same method. This option can vary depending on the device you are using. For some devices, you need to go to settings or use the power button on the phone to get to Airplane Mode. After applying this method, you can now try updating or setting up the voicemail greeting on your phone.

5. Don’t Forget To Smile. Smiling is a total game-changer when it comes to the tone of your voicemail greeting. We’ve all heard someone smiling through a phone, but we rarely think about how different it sounds when we do.
In the U.K. and most of Europe it is considered good manners to leave a slightly longer answering message as it gives the person time to adjust to the fact that they've been put through to an answering machine, compose a message in their head and then get ready to speak. It also leaves the caller with the impression of someone who is calm, composed, polite and not rushing around like a chicken without a head.
