Great question! Although I don’t know if there is a specific function for this on your particular phone, the best way to save the message is the simplest. Turn up the sound as high as you can and record it onto a digital recorder (like you would use for a lecture), a cassette recorder or your cell phone if you have a voice recorder on it. Then save it as an MP3 on to your computer for safe keeping. You can also Google your vtech model number to see if you can find an owner’s manual. They might have a way to save a recording in there. Probably not, but it’s worth a shot.
Here’s the thing: no matter how perfectly-crafted your sales voicemail is, plenty of people are still going to ignore it or stop listening midway through. That’s actually okay, though. We already know that other types of messaging, like emails, get a higher response rate. Calling just to "check in" isn't a relevant reason unless your prospect has specifically asked you to. It's just a lazy excuse to get someone on the phone and it hardly ever works. Instead, find common ground between you and your leads.

Leave a specific request. What do you want your listener to do? Sure, you want them to call you back, but why? To answer a question? To set up an appointment? People will appreciate it if you give them specific actions for their call back. That way they’ll know they won’t be wasting a lot of time on the call back trying to figure out what you want.
Noise in the background of a voicemail is both unprofessional and distracting. Background noise can communicate to the receiver that you are inconsiderate and have not taken the time to prepare and assess your surroundings. Make sure you are situated in a quiet environment when leaving a voicemail to ensure that your message is clearly heard.

We know your time is valuable so instead of placing you on hold, let us call you back!
