Leaving ambiguous voicemail messages almost guarantees that you will not get all you could have from the conversation, as you did not give the person you called the opportunity to prepare for your call.
A voicemail greeting is a greeting that you record on your phone. This is played when you are not able to answer your phone. The person who calls you will hear the greeting and then leave a message.

If you are ready to record your voicemail greeting, you should already have a solid script. Whether you include your mission statement, some fun personal details, or a favorite quote, making your voicemail greeting personal is a great way to set your business apart. Write down what you're going to say, but try to avoid reading it verbatim as you record, or it may start sounding robotic and rehearsed. First I would check the phone to see if it saved the greeting to its files. Some phones do and some don’t. If you are unable to find the voicemail greeting file, google the question for your type of phone. If you’re unable to find it or do it, call youe cell phone carrier to see if they can help. Some carriers still save voicemail greetings on their systems. It’s a great reminder though that if you have a greeting you really want to keep, to make sure you record it and save it to your computer and to a flash drive or cloud drive for good measure. Hope that helps! Laura
