Many messaging apps now offer the ability to send voice messages to contacts without having to make a phone call in the first place. Using this method, you're bypassing a phone call and voicemail entirely, but it serves the same purpose.
The next example is for a voicemail message left for a prospect or client you are getting back to: “Hi _________, this is ________ _________ getting back with you at (your company). I’m looking forward to speaking with you because we just (give an update here – you have a new special, new product update, added a new client they would know about), and I know that based on (their specific need you uncovered during the last call) this is going to make it even easier for you to (give the benefit you both discussed). The tone of your voice when leaving sales voicemails is almost as important as the actual words you say. If you obviously sound like a salesman, your message will be deleted before it even ends. You want to speak in a tone of voice thats friendly, confident, and casual—not overly excited, nervous, or desperate-sounding.
Traditional voicemail services once offered this feature, but visual voicemail (with a visual interface that lets you access messages directly) has mostly eliminated that possibility. If your phone does not have visual voicemail, and you have to call an inbox to hear your messages, you may still be able to use this feature.
How long should a voicemail be? A good voice mail should be like a Super Bowl commercial, right around 30 seconds.
Hedge your bets by giving them two ways to respond. A simple, "I'll also follow up with an email," before you hang up, is short, concise, and shows thoroughness on your part.
