Remember, the idea is for prospects to want to talk to you. Your tone can make or break the voicemail. So, remember, you’re not bothering them — you’re enlightening them. If you have a purpose for calling, you’re never going to trouble them.
People hate voicemail. Leaving messages, receiving them… With so many other ways to communicate, most of which don’t require you to actually use your voice, voicemail has become anxiety-producing. It’s even worse when you’re talking about a marketing or sales voicemail, too. The recipient usually thinks, “You’re just trying to get money out of me,” and they often hang up before listening to the entire message.
.
Voicemail may not be as popular today as it once was, but it’s still a useful feature; it lets you receive voice messages when you’re unable to answer the phone.
For all the above cases and more, preparing yourself and being careful will ensure that you only send professional and meaningful voicemails. Here’s how:
By default, the telephone number is the one assigned to you by your organization, but it could also be a cell phone number or email address. In that case, voice mail would be played back through your email Inbox.
You will need to access the voicemail menu of your recipient for deleting or re-recording your voicemail. Try pressing * or # on the dial pad to access the menu. This works for both mobile phones and landlines unless the recipient has changed the options.
So, how do you protect your information? There are a few settings and privacy apps that can help.
The next morning you realize the mistake you’ve made and pray she hasn’t opened it yet. You search the internet and ask your peers how to delete voicemails from someone else’s voicemail box – but it’s too late.
For example, if the lead is a first time home buyer, you can offer them advice on the general mortgage process in your voicemail. Plus, suggest they call you back to learn more. Make sure they know that you would be happy to answer any questions they may have.
Your voicemail inbox has a limit of 100 messages with a 10 minute maximum per message.

If your voicemail has been set up and you are unable to change your greeting through the 'Voicemail' tab, dial *86 then choose option 4 to change. From a Home screen, tap the Phone app . If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library. Tap Voicemail then tap Greeting (upper-left).
Take a pen and paper and write down exactly what you will say. Then call them back. This way you will make sure you say what needs to be said, you will not forget to say your name at the end and also share your phone number.
Depending on your connection to the person you are trying to reach, it is necessary to decide ahead of time what to say. So, avoid being the person that calls someone but then has no idea what they want to say. Especially if it goes to voicemail. Also, do not read off of a script. A simple outline can help you remember what to say, and it should flow naturally.
Have a positive attitude while recording your voicemail greeting — it will carry through in your voice. If you find it difficult to convey positivity over a phone system, try smiling while you’re recording. (We promise, you will hear a difference.)
