Because you never know the quality of someone’s phone audio or your cell phone service, it's not a bad idea to give your name and phone number twice within your message. Nobody wants to listen to a long-winded voicemail. Keep your greeting short, simple, and concise. A voicemail message should pique a client’s interest and leave them looking forward to your call. Stick to the basics, explaining your company name, hours of operation, and when to expect a callback.
Alternative services exist, but most voice-broadcasting services don't offer free service, and most focus on messaging dozens or hundreds of contacts at a time.
If you sound too relaxed or overly familiar, you're going to undermine both your and your company's credibility. People want to buy from an expert — not someone trying too hard to sound cool. So avoid coming off as too laid back and using too much slang, "um's," and "yeah's."
