Extended Away Message Example Script. Hi, you’ve reached [YOUR NAME]. I’m out of the office on extended leave until [DATE]. The more personal and specific the question, the more likely it'll get a response. Think about it this way. Pro tip: Only use first names. People of authority call each other by their first name only. Using the contact’s full name or saying Mr./Ms. [last name] can make you seem less confident and important than the person you’re calling.
To create a greater sense of authority, and that you are somebody important, list the name of a person and company who you've worked with before, especially if that person and company is a direct competitor of the person you are calling. Nothing grabs the interest of the person you are calling faster than hearing the name of their main competitor.
