Thanks for all the great advice you share on the Manners Mentor blog! Here is my situation. I hope you can help. Sometimes I’m good at leaving a voicemail that’s to the point, but most of the time I feel like I’m a babbling idiot. I never know how much information to leave. How much is too much? How much isn’t enough, especially in a professional setting? I would love to know your thoughts on this. Best wishes for a wonderful week!
6. Alternatively, from the list of messages, press and hold the voicemail then select “Delete,” then confirm the deletion.

If you are unable to set up your voicemail through phone settings, then you can try setting it up through your carrier. Voicemail is related to your carrier and it is best to be done this way. This may not work for all kind of carriers. You can easily apply this method by following the steps below:
Ive been saving my grandmothers voicemails for almost 8 years now and when i went to upgrade my phone, i almost fainted when the rep told me they were going to be erased. Thanksfully he put us in touch with a company called http://www.voicemailsforever.com and they ended up much cheaper than the one you suggested above. i think your readers would benefit because they do it for so much less.
3. Stammer-Filled Voicemail Greeting from Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart, born James Maitland Stewart, has a voice that is unmistakable and 100% unique to him.
Hello Lynn, this is Annemarie from Speak Confident English. I’m calling to follow up on our discussion at the conference last week. The best way to reach me is by phone during the workday. My number is 222-231-2323. Again, that’s 222-231-2323. Thank you.
When asked to press a number, pause on the phone/mic icon and click a number under the DIAL PAD tab.
Something along the lines of, "You have reached the answering service of . I am unfortunately unable to take your call at this time, however if you leave a message after the tone I will return your call as soon as I have an opportunity.". That's about a 12 second message if spoken in a slow and calm fashion. The message that this article advises is about 4 seconds.
"When closing your voicemail, say that if you do not hear from them in three days, you promise to call back. Three days later, start your voicemail (or live call if you reach the person) with, 'As promised, I am calling again to share...' Close with, 'If you haven't had a chance to return my call, I promise to call back in two days.' Two days later, call back and open with, 'As promised, I am calling back...' The message you are sending is that you keep your promises!"
If you’re making several calls, make sure you document your messages so you can be on top of it immediately if/when your call is returned. Nothing worse (or more stupid) than getting a returned call and having no idea who it’s from.
Note: a desk phones' voicemail greeting can only be recorded via phone, there is no way to upload or download a greeting through the online panel.
4.) Keep your voicemail message to two points. If you need to share more information, then say in your voicemail that you’re going to send the person an e-mail message with the rest of the details. “… I’m calling to share that we have finalized the … and lastly, that we know you’d like to meet at 9:00 AM as we discussed. However, is Tuesday or Wednesday better for your team’s schedule? ….”
