Don’t confuse voice mail with automatic attendant systems. Automatic attendant, where the computer actually answers the phone, is the single worst business invention ever. Human answers. Human determines if the person you’re calling is in by ringing their phone and monitoring the response. If not in, human returns and says, “Mr. Jones is not in. Would you like me to help you personally, take your message personally or would you like to leave a detailed message on his or her voice mail?” You faint from the shock.
8. Select a standard greeting, or create a custom one. You will usually be given the choice to either select a standard greeting or record a custom one.
Several users are getting the “com.apple.mobilephone error 1035” error on their visual voicemail whenever they try updating or setting up their visual voicemail greetings. You can customize each greeting for each phone number within your OpenPhone account. In addition, you can change it as often as you need.
Generally, these greetings should be brief for an individual. State your name and a query for the caller's information. You can also include a backup number for people to reach you if you like. For an organization, it's a good idea to announce your standard office hours. Dial *98 on your OnSIP-registered phone. Enter your voicemail box number. Enter the PIN/password for your voicemail box. Press 0 for voicemail box options. Press 1 for unavailable greeting.
