If you can, try to keep your message 20 to 30 seconds long — max. This is the sweet spot for sharing just enough information without going overboard, potentially getting cut off by the recipient’s voice mailbox system, or having the listener hang up early because your message was simply too long. Speak clearly, avoid rambling, and get straight to the point.

I like to use a “three strikes and you’re out” rule. Meaning, after the 3rd attempt, if I haven’t heard back from them, I take them out of my current call list (I move them back into my drip marketing campaign and let that do its job)
A professional voicemail should be short and succinct. Simply introduce your company, ask the caller to leave their information, and let the caller know when to expect a callback.
