There's no doubt about it -- leaving a good sales voicemail is hard. And even if you do record a well-crafted message, do prospects actually listen to them, or take the time to call you back? Not usually.
In the video lesson, I shared this example for a common voicemail greeting in English:

8. "Hi there! As you know, I am out on maternity leave. I won't be checking my emails or listening to my phone messages while I am away. But please feel free to send or leave as many messages as you like." Here's a message for those coworkers that rarely read through notes in their entirety. Hopefully, they'll fill up your voicemail quickly!
Delivered: Messages that have been delivered but have not yet been listened to by the recipient.

Find a piece of connective tissue, such as an alma mater, a favorite sports team, or a common pet (I’m a dog lover, personally). This opens the conversation and shows that you’ve done your research.
While both types of messages should be customized to a given buyer, voicemails should be ultra-specific. In an email, I might ask for a referral, an appointment, or feedback on a content asset they downloaded. These sorts of classic questions -- while still tailored to the buyer -- can be customized for reuse with another prospect, or another 100 prospects.
Messaging services including Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and WhatsApp all support voice messaging. Generally, you send a voice message through one of these apps by opening a conversation and holding down the microphone button. You then let go to send the message or swipe the screen to delete.
Most importantly, have fun with it. If you don't enjoy leaving a voicemail, you might not be in the right job.
Most people try to rush and explain everything they do in 15 seconds. This DOESN’T WORK! Not only is this overwhelming, but it’s akin to showing all your cards in a game of poker. Effective voicemails provide a warm introduction, leave enough room for curiosity, and provide a reason your lead should call you back. A solid sales voicemail can't be too intrusive or read like a list of demands. At no point should you say something like, "You need to call me back," or sound frustrated by the fact that they haven't gotten in touch with you.
