Now opinions Modern etiquette: Does voicemail make you nervous? Aug. 1, 2014 06:00 am JST July 28, 2014 | 10:26 am JST
Never use voicemail as a way to avoid speaking with someone. It doesn't help, and a person would have to be terminally dense not to figure out your game. If you must call when you know the other person isn't available, say, "I know you won't be able to take the call now, but I wanted to let you know that..."
.
But the key to success here is knowing what to say on the second and third voicemail/email attempts BEFORE picking up the phone.
You can record a personal greeting, or you can use one of the pre-recorded CenturyLink greetings. Follow the system prompts to select your greeting:
3. "Hey, this is [your name]. If you're calling for [X reason], please [contact so-and-so] or [go to our website, send me an email]. For all other inquiries, leave your name and a brief message and I'll call you back within [one, two, three] business day[s]."
Note: I have several lessons about communicating on the telephone that may be useful to you:
So, leave "Call me back when you get this," at the door, and try, "Talk to you soon," "Thanks for your time," or a good old-fashioned, "Have a great day."

These were some of the solutions to fix your voicemail not working on your iPhone. The fact is, voicemail may stop working correctly for various reasons.
Traditional voicemail services once offered this feature, but visual voicemail (with a visual interface that lets you access messages directly) has mostly eliminated that possibility. If your phone does not have visual voicemail, and you have to call an inbox to hear your messages, you may still be able to use this feature.
Step 1 – Set your PIN – this protects your mailbox from eavesdroppers. Log on to your mailbox. Dial 6 7 for mailbox options. Dial 7 for security code. The phone system will guide you through replacing your 4-digit security code. Step 2 – Record your name. Callers may hear your recorded name before leaving you a message.

As I mentioned earlier, this won’t be the last voicemail you leave so get creative with future messages. The next day you could leave a voicemail similar to the following:
If you are a burglar, then we’re probably at home cleaning our weapons right now and can’t come to the phone. Otherwise, we probably aren’t home and it’s safe to leave us a message.
So, make sure you are able to answer the phone and follow up with your leads and clients efficiently. Plus, make sure your outgoing voicemail message is warm and welcoming. That way, the caller will leave a voicemail and you can return it as soon as you can.
