If you create a call answering rule but don't specify an action, your caller will hear the following prompt: "You have reached the mailbox of
HI, you’ve reached (name). I’m so sorry I can’t pick up the call right now because I am standing right behind you. GOTCHA.
Don’t give up when you don’t receive a call from lead you’ve reached out to. You will need to make at least a handful of calls, plus emails and texts, over the next couple of weeks to maximize your chances of speaking to the lead. You may find that leads don’t want to speak directly to you but will communicate through text or email. No matter the avenue of conversation, consider it a win when they start conversing with you through any form of communication. Be persistent. If you don’t hear from them after weeks of effort, nurture them through a drip email campaign. The problem is if you speak too quickly, your listener won’t be able to understand what you’re saying –making the whole point of the voicemail irrelevant.
Most cell phones show the number and voicemail duration when a call is missed. So if the recipient sees the message is from an unknown number and only a few seconds long, they'll assume it's not important and hit delete. Since the message doesn't appear to be substantive, they're not prompted to listen.
