Be polite and considerate. Give the person 10 seconds to compose themselves and prepare a concise message. Not only is this good manners across a MUCH larger portion of the world than the U.S., but it is also just common sense.

Make it as easy as possible for your prospects by including your phone number near the beginning of the message, then repeating your contact information near the end for good measure.

To some extent, we all have a “phone voice”. But there are phone voices and then there are PHONE VOICES. We’ve all gotten a voicemail from the stiff, ultra-peppy, overly rehearsed cheerleader; it doesn’t sit well with you, right?

We know your time is valuable so instead of placing you on hold, let us call you back! Please leave your name, phone number, the reason for your call, and two different times that are convenient for you to receive a call back from us. There are high quality picture frames and small, less expensive ones that probably don’t have a lot of memory or ways to protect what’s been recorded. I would start with the manufacturer to see if they have any ideas. If they can’t help, try one of the recording suggestions we made in the post to see if they might be able to help. Even some Walgreens and Walmart have recording services, that preserve recordings, so they might also be able to help.
Hedge your bets by giving them two ways to respond. A simple, "I'll also follow up with an email," before you hang up, is short, concise, and shows thoroughness on your part.
