To end the voicemail, state (or restate) your main question, then say your phone number. You can also say you’ll follow-up with an email. People hate voicemail. Leaving messages, receiving them… With so many other ways to communicate, most of which don’t require you to actually use your voice, voicemail has become anxiety-producing. It’s even worse when you’re talking about a marketing or sales voicemail, too. The recipient usually thinks, “You’re just trying to get money out of me,” and they often hang up before listening to the entire message.
Use call answering rules to determine what happens when a caller reaches your voice mail. For example, if you have automatic replies turned on, then you could set up your rule to transfer the caller to a different number. If you have multiple rules, you can specify the order in which they are applied.
Your own answering greeting should be short. Don't bother to say that you aren't available to take the call. That's a waste of time, and there's no point in restating the obvious. Instead, simply identify yourself and ask the caller to leave a message.
To access your Voicemail including retrieval of messages, updating your greeting and more, simply dial 321 from your amaysim number.
I've stressed it throughout this article, and I'll stress it again — your sales voicemails have to be concise and airtight. That requires being locked in on exactly what you're trying to get across. You can't go off on a series of tangents that may or may not apply to your prospect's situation. Keep your messaging as focused as possible.
Avoid telling your prospect what to do. You'll make returning your call seem like a chore or, worse, a demand. This should feel like a mutually beneficial relationship -- one in which each party wants to call the other back -- unprompted.
