Most people try to rush and explain everything they do in 15 seconds. This DOESN’T WORK! Not only is this overwhelming, but it’s akin to showing all your cards in a game of poker. While it is a best practice to end your message with your contact information, that is only valuable when the recipient listens to your message until the end. By stating your name and phone number earlier in the message and repeating it at the end, you’ll be able to pass your information along to those who may not initially hear the message in its entirety.
To create a greater sense of authority, and that you are somebody important, list the name of a person and company who you've worked with before, especially if that person and company is a direct competitor of the person you are calling. Nothing grabs the interest of the person you are calling faster than hearing the name of their main competitor.
Don’t give up when you don’t receive a call from lead you’ve reached out to. You will need to make at least a handful of calls, plus emails and texts, over the next couple of weeks to maximize your chances of speaking to the lead. You may find that leads don’t want to speak directly to you but will communicate through text or email. No matter the avenue of conversation, consider it a win when they start conversing with you through any form of communication. Be persistent. If you don’t hear from them after weeks of effort, nurture them through a drip email campaign. All of the effort you put forth to reach out to the lead may not result in an immediate response but, they may call you in six months and that is a win.
Having a reference sheet will help you stay focused while delivering your message. Make sure to keep your outline concise; only include the essential points that you intend to cover in your message.
Many messaging apps now offer the ability to send voice messages to contacts without having to make a phone call in the first place. Using this method, you're bypassing a phone call and voicemail entirely, but it serves the same purpose.
4. Engage Your Callers. It may not seem like it, but a business voicemail isn’t that different from a regular business conversation. If you create a dialogue between your callers and yourself, you’re gonna have much more engaged, upbeat, and satisfied callers.

I find it helpful to imagine that I am writing a memo when I leave voicemail messages. Outlining points enhances my own clarity and puts the listener on notice for the information.

The more personal and specific the question, the more likely it'll get a response. Think about it this way. If you start to have chest pains on a busy city street, and you cry out, "Somebody call 911!" you might get help … but you might not.
