14. "Hello, you've reached the Sales Department at [Company name]. All of our representatives are currently helping clients [insert goal such as, 'achieve 40% growth through streamlining HR operations'] and are unable to take your call. Please leave your name, company, and phone number and we'll give you a call back ASAP. Thank you!"
Here's an advanced technique for all you overachievers. It's "advanced" because it's rarely used, not because it's difficult. The trick? Leave two sales voicemails instead of one. Let us explain:
A voicemail greeting is a greeting that you record on your phone. This is played when you are not able to answer your phone. The person who calls you will hear the greeting and then leave a message.
Your second call should happen immediately after your first voicemail. In this message, quickly say, in 10 seconds or less, an important detail you neglected to mention during your first call.
We could be in, we could be out. You could leave us a message and later find out.
For example, instead of saying, “Hi, I was wondering if you’re looking for different web hosting,” you could personalize it by saying, “Hi [name]. I wanted to pick your brain about the web host [company name] is currently using. What are the challenges or successes you’ve had with it?”
Not in a chatty mood? Here's how to go directly to voicemail or send a voice message.
You also don't want to confuse them with too much technical jargon and complex vocab. Keep things on the lighter side and approach your voicemails conversationally.
If you really mean it, say you will return the call as soon as possible. For example, "This is Mary Mitchell. Please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can." If you want to give another option to reach you, go ahead, but limit it only to one telephone number or email address.
Sample Voicemail Message #1: Note: The best voicemail message you can leave is one with a specific purpose that addresses the needs of your prospect or client, and offers them a solution that is worth them taking the time to call you back to learn more about. Here is the classic template – adjust and adapt it to fit your product or service.
If you have a visual voicemail from FaceTime you want to preserve, you can save it with the Files app:
Choose your no-answer greeting from the drop-down menu next to If unanswered use greeting from: 8
