When you receive a voicemail, a notification will alert you on Skype for Business apps, desktop phone, and email app. If the caller hangs-up before leaving a message, you will receive a Missed-Call Notification email with the caller information (if it was not blocked). As you practice and score your sales voicemails, you’ll start to determine some best practices. Write these down, and use them as an outline for future calls. Here are a few of my best practices.

In order to leave an effective professional voice mail, there are crucial techniques to master: The way you sound is the most important thing to remember. You want to leave a good and lasting impression on the person you called. People respond better to positive and energetic tones, keeping in mind to use an authoritative voice. People tend to respond and feel more comfortable if you have a mutual friend, contact or co-worker in common. Mention it! If possible, finding a creative link makes yourself memorable. No one wants to listen to a rambling voice mail especially in our fast-paced business culture. Sometimes upon retrieving voice mail messages, a recording tells you how long the upcoming message is. If it's too long, you will probably be deleted before you have even been heard. When you focus your message on one clear and confined topic, you will most likely get a call back. Open ended voice mails are unfavorable among clients. The point of a voice mail is to get what you need answered. Tell them what you want them to do, e.g. "Call me back." "Check out my website." Say your contact information clear and slow. Most of the time people are listening to their messages on-the-go, so try to eliminate the potential of having them repeat the message over. Leaving your email address as contact option is a good way to come across less threatening

Call the voicemail system to change your password: From your AT&T wireless phone, press and hold 1. For AT&T Wireless Home Phone, dial 1. If prompted, enter your voicemail password. If you have new messages, press the * key to skip to the Main Menu. In the Main Menu, press 4 for Personal Options. Press 2 for Administrative Options.
How long should a voicemail be? A good voice mail should be like a Super Bowl commercial, right around 30 seconds.

A good voicemail greeting is short and professional, lets people know that you’ll get back to them, and invites callers to continue engaging with a call-to-action. You should also show your personality if you’re in an industry or role that allows that. If your industry is more conservative, however, you’ll want to keep humor and personal touches to a minimum. Unfortunately, once a voicemail message has been deleted there is no way to retrieve it. At the end of the below mentioned expiry periods, voicemail messages will be purged from the network and will no longer be accessible.
What you do not want to do is say your phone number so quickly that the person has to listen to your voicemail multiple times to try and figure out your phone number. We have all gotten those annoying voicemail messages where the person said their phone number so quickly that we had to listen to their message several times to figure out their phone number. Don't be that jerk who leaves their phone number so fast that the other person has to listen to your message over and over to try and figure out what your phone number is.
