Instead, close out by saying something to the effect of, “I look forward to speaking with you soon”, or even “Call me at your earliest convenience.” Even though all these examples communicate the same thing, they take different approaches to the call back request, and little things like wording make all the difference.

A good voicemail greeting is short and professional, lets people know that you’ll get back to them, and invites callers to continue engaging with a call-to-action. You should also show your personality if you’re in an industry or role that allows that. If your industry is more conservative, however, you’ll want to keep humor and personal touches to a minimum. Calling just to "check in" isn't a relevant reason unless your prospect has specifically asked you to. It's just a lazy excuse to get someone on the phone and it hardly ever works. Instead, find common ground between you and your leads.
