1.) A study by AT&T found that five out of every six phone calls go straight to voicemail. Since youâre always more likely than not to get someoneâs voicemail, before calling, script out what you want to say. Maybe even practice it out loud once before you dial.
Save the highest-rated voicemails. And be honest about which ones you would delete. Those are the ones that need your attention. Separate those elements that need help, and focus on one at a time until perfect voicemails become second nature.
4. Reset your pin. Maybe you have forgotten your pin or passcode or you never set it up in the first place. This is a common issue. Most carriers have detailed instructions for changing passcodes. For example, to change a T-Mobile passcode, hold down the "1" key, then press the star key, and then press number 5 to go into passcode security. Then press 1, and you will be able to change your passcode. You can change your Sprint passcode online by choosing the my preferences tab and then the "things I can manage online" section. You can reset your pin by calling the carrier if you have forgotten it or never set it up at all. Some sites allow you to do this online.

Why not shorter than 20 seconds? The voicemail indicator will tell the contact how long the message is, and if itâs just 5 or 10 seconds, it may seem like a spam call or a wrong number, which means they wonât listen to it at all. Messages between 20 and 30 seconds seem important enough to listen to but not so long that theyâre off-putting for the contact.
