If your recording is vague, confusing, or drags on, customers will lose interest and hang up the phone instead of leaving a voicemail message. To help you create an effective after hours announcement, here are some best practices and sample scripts you can employ. 1. State Your Business Name

Good professional voicemail greeting examples. A business named Lorem Ipsum, which sells widgets, wants to leave a brief message that confirms for the listener that they have called the right business. The message would also prompt the caller to provide information needed to return the call, and throws in a nice quick promotional note.
Deciding what to say in a voicemail can be difficult. Poor quality and unprofessional voicemails come in a lot of shapes and sizes. Great voicemails strike the right balance of being concise, friendly and professional, which can be hard to do if you don’t leave them all the time.
First, call your prospect and leave a concise 15-second message. This voicemail should include the bulk of the information you want to share: your reason for calling, benefits to the prospect, etc.
