How long should a voicemail be? A good voice mail should be like a Super Bowl commercial, right around 30 seconds.
A good voicemail greeting is short and professional, lets people know that you’ll get back to them, and invites callers to continue engaging with a call-to-action. You should also show your personality if you’re in an industry or role that allows that. If your industry is more conservative, however, you’ll want to keep humor and personal touches to a minimum. To tell you the truth, I don’t like when people leave me a Voicemail message. I prefer when they text me on my phone or email me. I can see what the call is about straight away. It saves me time from logging into my Voicemail and playing the message, then waiting for it to finish. I am a bit impatient.
Hey guess who this is? You guessed it. Guess what you have to do now? You guessed it.
So, consider changing your voicemails. Leave behind the typical “give me a call back when you can,” and instead expand on your services and purpose.
It makes you look professional. Especially, if you are applying for jobs, calling agents for accommodation, enrolling in to courses, have your own business and so on, it’s important to have your Voicemail greeting set up& configured. You only need to do this once!
