Therefore, before you proceed, open Phone and tap on the Voicemail tab to ensure that voicemail is set up.
Tap a message notification. When you get a voicemail, you can check your message from the notification on your phone. Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap Voicemail . Call your voicemail. You can call your voicemail service to check your messages. Open the Phone app . At the bottom, tap Dialpad .

Open your Android’s Phone app. It usually looks like a phone receiver at the bottom of the home screen. Press and hold the 1 key on the keypad. Tap Add number. Tap Service. Tap My carrier. Tap Setup. Tap Voicemail number. Type your mobile phone number and tap OK.
Something along the lines of, "You have reached the answering service of . I am unfortunately unable to take your call at this time, however if you leave a message after the tone I will return your call as soon as I have an opportunity.". That's about a 12 second message if spoken in a slow and calm fashion. The message that this article advises is about 4 seconds.
